To facilitate disinfection work and protect operators, various technology companies began to develop various proposals to automate the task of cleaning in times of pandemic. In this context, Digital Aerolus presented an interior drone that disinfects rooms with a powerful C-band ultraviolet light system (UVC) in order to combat the presence of coronavirus covid-19 and other viruses and germs in common spaces.Ads by
Unlike other drones operating in open spaces, the Aertos 120-UVC model has the ability to operate without the need for GPS or special sensors to perform its tasks. In this way, Aerolus drone combines the emission of ultraviolet lights remotely to disinfect rooms without human intervention.
Its creators ensure that this type of remotely controlled aerial vehicles can facilitate cleaning and disinfection tasks in stores, sanitary facilities or warehouses. "The use of UVC light as a disinfectant is not new, but our method is, as it helps people to be safe in the midst of the pandemic," said Jeff Alholm, co-founder of Digital Aerolus.
With a flight range of about 5 minutes, the drone is equipped with 36 265 nm UVC LED lights of optical intensity that ensure 99 percent disinfection in areas of two square meters.
As antecedent, the Danish firm UVD Robots developed an autonomous equipment that can travel through rooms, corridors and common spaces of hospitals through an ultraviolet light system. In this way, the system promises to eliminate any viruses or microorganism without human intervention, both on surfaces and in the air.
