The Lanlan SJRC F11 is an initiation drone with features that make it stand out within the highly contested beginner drone segment. The competition is fierce, we'll see if this drone is the size.
Analysis and characteristics of the LanLan SJRC F11
The SJRC F11 is one of the most serious drones released by this company lately, which has a well-known trajectory within the toy drones.
It comes with advanced features such as GPS, brushless engines, follow me function and a pretty good range.
All this in an entry-level drone. Don't expect the camera to be excellent, but it's a 1080p you can see from the transmitter.
Battery
The main feature that stands out when it comes to this drone is the battery life. It's on par with some of DJI's high-end drones like the DJI Mavic Pro!
Even compared to some of the best releases in terms of battery, the SJRC F11 outperforms almost its entire competition.
To load it, you only need to use the standard wall plug charger that comes in the package. The total charging time is approximately 2 hours (since this is a very large battery).
The actual reach of the drone is approximately 600 m, but it is not convenient to force it to reach that range, more than anything because, besides, beyond 500 meters, it is not legal.
You'll need a 802.11ac Wi-Fi-capable phone for the FPV to work with this drone. The wifi signal is quite powerful.
The drone is set to stop at a maximum altitude of 120 m so it doesn't go up, and it won't fall, it'll just stop. This makes sense because that's the legal maximum altitude of drone flight.
There are also other limitations...
When the battery is critically running out, it won't allow you to fly more than 20 meters away.
The camera doesn't come with mounted on a gimbal, so it's not stabilized. A motorised gimbal would move it into a higher range and putting EIS would also mean more processing power and probably reduce sensor resolution a little.
It comes with the ability to tilt 90 degrees from a dial on the transmitter so you can better capture what you want.
The application comes with quite interesting functions, including the ability to return home.
The photos taken by this drone have the same resolution as the video, 1080p, and are not of very high quality but you really can't ask much more in this class.
If you really want a better photo camera, you will need to look at a higher range.
Because this drone is quite powerful (thanks to its brushless engines), you could actually carry an action camera and could handle it well. Of course, you'll get a lot less flying time, but it's something you can do.
The transmitter for the SJRC F11 is quite well done, with a compact design, trying to copy a bit of the DJI Spark.
The lower arms can be folded for a better grip, as with the antennas.
It comes with:
- A button back to the start (returning the drone to a maximum of 2 m from the point from which it was launched)
- Automatic landing and launch
- A scroll wheel to change the camera angle
- Wheel to change speed level
- LED to show different statistics
Headless Mode
It allows you to fly the drone by taking your relative position, not by how it's really oriented. This makes it easier for beginners, but it is actually a feature that can ultimately make drone flight learning difficult.
Waypoints
Fly from one point to another on the map as you set them up from the app.
Back home.
Since this drone comes with GPS, it also has an included RTH function, which is obviously one of the most useful features of the drone.
The accuracy is between 1 and 2 meters, which is more than enough, since you will still take the controls from a certain point.
Follow me.
The Follow Me mode is ideal for playing and impressing your friends, and when you do sports, as it even spins to capture your position in the take even when you move.
This drone is a top sales among initiation models for the features it contains, automatic flight functions and great flight autonomy.
As we always say, drones that bring automated flight aids are always a great start-up option for adults and children who want to get started in this exciting world with simple, easy-to-fly gear.
