DJI has released a firmware update for the Avata 360 that incorporates support for RC Pro 2 controller and adds the possibility of flying waypoint missions. The update, reported on October 21 and 22, 2026, responds to one of the most repeated demands by users of this 360-degree FPV drone.
To activate compatibility it is necessary to upgrade both the aircraft (firmware v011.00.0800) and the RC Pro 2 (v01.00.0900). Once both are applied, the pilot can use a single controller for the Avata 360 and other compatible equipment, and plan routes with points of interest, time and distance estimation on the screen.
In addition to the waypoint missions, the update improves zoom in FocusTrack and automatic viewing change in Vision Assist. These are software improvements on a model already marketed since March 2026, without hardware changes.
The Avata 360 remains an immersive recording-oriented consumer equipment. As with all other DJI software developments, it is recommended to check the official release notes before updating and reviewing Return-to-Home settings after installation.
