On October 21, 2026, Walmart and Wing launched the drone delivery service in Charlotte Metropolitan Area, North Carolina. The service operates from seven Supercenters located in Charlotte, Gastonia, Concord, Kannapolis, Lincolnton, Shelby and Kings Mountain, with two additional stores planned in the following weeks.

Customers can receive food items, home products and over-the-counter medication in just 30 minutes in many cases. Delivery takes place in the garden or outside of the home and does not require a tip. According to local sources, the service is temporarily included for Walmart+ members and available to the rest of users as a separate service.

This activation is part of the joint plan to expand the service to more than 270 Walmart stores from coast to coast by 2027, which could reach more than 10% of the American population. Denver and Seattle are scheduled as next markets in 2027. In Charlotte, a 'nide' has been set up with several take-off platforms in the parking lot of at least one of the shops.

The Wing model used in these operations is a fixed-wing and multirotor hybrid capable of transporting loads of several kilos and operating autonomously within the zones authorized by the FAA.
