With you, Your Majesty. DJI Inspire 2!. The absolute reference for lovers of photography and video airstrips. You can say no less about this drone, in which everything in it is superlative, from its size to an absolutely amazing construction quality in which it employs materials such as carbon fiber and magnesium.

Analysis and features of DJI Inspire 2

Drones are among the most innovative and exciting technological inventions of recent years. DJI has become a benchmark in these years showing that not all products from China are of low quality, but quite the opposite in this case. The DJI Inspire 1 He was the leading filming drone on the market when he appeared. It featured a 4K camera and a 360° rotating gimbal. The DJI Inspire 2 is a remarkable update of the Inspire 1. It has all the advanced features to be a real studio of flying filming.

Taking into account all the problems related to Inspire 1, Inspire 2 was launched. Taking the best features of Inspire 1, modifying elements that need improvement and filling the intermediate spaces, Inspire 2 is designed to dominate the sky. It has improved flight performance, high reliability and video transmission and has a more defined appearance. For professionals who want superb video capture performance and a well-built drone with incredible design, the DJI Inspire 2 is an excellent choice.

The DJI Inspire 2 is an impressive photographic and cinematic instrument. For high-quality images, there are several alternatives for interchangeable cameras, such as the Zenmuse X7, X5S and X4S available separately. The images are recorded in H formats. 265 y H.264. In the event that X5R images are produced in unprocessed Cinema DNG or in various forms of Apple ProRes using the necessary licenses, they can be accessed from DJI. The recording functionality is developed by the CinemaCore 2.0 Engine image processor.

The Inspire 2 measures 42.7 cm long, 31.7 cm high and 42.5 cm wide, excluding propellers. It has 1550T propellers and 3512 engines. For each rotor, the maximum thrust reaches 2 kg.

The Inspire 2 image processor records up to 5.2K on Apple ProRes, CinemaDNG RAW and more. In just 4 seconds, the drone moves from 0 to 80 km/h. Its maximum speed is 107 km/h and an unprecedented speed of up to 9 m/s for a drone of its size. With the double battery system, the flight time is extended to a span of 27 minutes without affecting the speed. Inspire 2 can fly at low temperature, without exceeding the -15oC, with self-heating technology. That is, your smart batteries have a small internal radiator that automatically heats up under very low temperature conditions. Its flight range has been improved to provide two direction of sensor redundancy and avoid obstacles.

The DJI Inspire 2 has increased artificial intelligence allowing individual pilots to create dramatic and complex shots. The video transmission system is updated to allow dual channel frequency and dual signal. This makes it possible to transmit video simultaneously from the main camera and the FPV camera so that a pilot and a camera operator can drive the drone simultaneously, which means that from the remote controller the camera operator only moves the gimbal, camera zoom, etc. while the pilot only moves the drone.

The DJI Inspire 2 housing consists of magnesium and aluminium, with carbon fiber arms. It has a 2-axis first-person vision camera and several support cameras with vision detection settings. It has a dual battery with a capacity of 98 Wh. These batteries will add up to their capabilities to give greater autonomy in normal flight circumstances, but in case one of the two batteries had a failure, the other battery makes "backup" so that the drone will never run out of power. The remote controller has an HDMI port, an extension port and a USB port. Its limit of control range is 7 kilometers. The frequency of the remote signal changes between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz automatically according to the signal quality of each moment.

The Inspire 2 remote controller features a master-slave mode, which supports multiple slave controllers. To fully load the 2 remote controls it takes about 3 hours. It has a 6000 mAh LiPO 2S battery, and supports a variety of modes that include custom under the stick, MODE3, MODE2 and MODE1. It is equipped with a portable device support for tablets and smartphones.

The drone has been fully optimized for efficient workflow. You can record video in Apple ProRes and CinemaDNG, among other formats for making movies. It also supports FAT32 / exFAT * file formats to allow quick copying of files without any additional software. Inspire 2 can detect obstacles in an active range of 30 meters during Smart Flight, Normal Flight and RTH modes. It has infrared sensors that look up to scan any object within 5 m for unobstructed use in enclosed spaces.

Spotlight Pro is an intelligent feature of Inspire 2 for powerful tracking. This mode uses excellent visual tracking algorithms during a flight to capture a subject without the intervention of a camera operator. When the gimbal is near its rotation limit, the drone rotates in a similar direction without impact on the shot capture and flight control to release the Gimbal movement.

It has two shooting modes; composition mode and fast mode. For the composition mode, select both the subject and the track position. Once the subject enters the selected tracking position, press the shortcut to start tracking. You can move the gimbal while shooting for settings. For quick mode, choose an object to start tracking. Spotlit pro is included in all TapFly, ActiveTrack, Point of Interest and WayPoint Smart Flight modes.

There are several other smart shooting and flight modes available. To make complex shots repeatable and simple, obstacle avoidance is maximized when Waypoint and Point of Interest modes are used. ActiveTrack, QuickSpin and TapFly simplify complicated shooting. With the double-axis FPV camera on board, the camera view is separated from the flight view, making the Tapfly camera effective. To configure the flight route, just tap the screen to view the FPV. Inspire 2 flies automatically along the selected route. The pilot is allowed to focus on the gimbal movement.

ActiveTrack mode allows the recognition of different objects such as bicycles, people, cars or boats. For better follow-up accuracy, you can adjust the tracking profiles in the subjects. The Inspire 2 has the ability to create real-time maps during flight through forward and downward vision systems. In case you lose the signals from the video transmission system and the Smart Return startup feature is enabled, the Inspire 2 uses its original route to fly home. When you get the signal back, use a straight line. For safety, you will identify any obstacles within 200 m ahead, using the main camera. It reconnects quickly after the connection is lost.

With the latest update of DJI Lightbridge technology, Inspire 2 can deliver 720P / 1080P video and also FPV view to camera operator and pilot. Users can switch to different frequencies to overcome noise and achieve greater stability. Wireless HD image transmitter technology can send video data from the master controller to the slave within a range of 100 m without any quality interference.
The Inspire 2 can transmit to 2 stations using its dedicated 720P60 and 1080i50 signal. To transmit directly to TV, you only need to connect the truck that transmits via satellite to the remote control, and this will allow you to send live signals to a TV network.

An improved propulsion system takes the flight performance of Inspire 2 to a new level. Fly to an optimal attitude with an angle of 40 degrees with a fast speed of 6 m/s in ascent and 9 m/s in descent. The controller sticks are adapted for sensitivity, making it easier to maneuver. With optionally dedicated propellers, Inspire 2 can fly in extreme conditions, including a high altitude of 2500-5000 m above sea level.

Through key dual redundancy modules such as the barometer IMU and the compass, greater reliability has been achieved. The intelligent control system monitors the redundancy system to obtain accurate flight data. The risk of collision is reduced through the advanced obstacle detection system. Fully charging the 2 batteries takes about 90 minutes. Inspire 2 can be used with batteries that have different charging levels provided that the energy discrepancy is less than 13%. If the drone does not take off, the DJI app will notify you.

If you do not intend to use the batteries for a long period of time, it is recommended to charge them at 50% before storing them. Be sure to download them completely every 3 months. In any case, these smart batteries are self-discharged in a time that can be set to stay at an optimal charge percentage for storage.

The propulsion system uses PWM signals. It has a serial port redundancy for transmission in case the signal is lost. To ensure reliability, the propulsion system is thoroughly tested when combined with the dual battery design and key sensors. The DJI CINESSD station, sold separately, connects the CINESSD to a PC for quick and efficient data transfer. DJI CINESSD supports exFAT2 / FAT32 file formats. It applies a NVMe logical specification and also has 4 ports for PCI Express1. The CINESSD is available in 480GB and 120GB. Using 480GB, Inspire 2 has the ability to record videos at high speeds of 4.2Gbps getting enough information to meet even the most demanding filming requirements.

Inspire 2 supports the 4G-LTE connection. With high bandwidth, the drone can transmit high-resolution videos to a server and can also be used for long-distance control. In addition, it reduces the latency of video transmission to 500 ms. For flexible filming, a handheld camera holder is suitable for both ZenmuseX4S and X5S to film on the floor. To improve the positioning of the controller, there is a GPS accessory. It is used with the dynamic start point task that regularly updates the remote controller location as a start point. This ensures the correct return of Inspire 2 to its starting point.

DJI Inspire 2 has some drawbacks for the user. It sits well above the Inspire 1. Inspire 1 drivers are not compatible with DJI Inspire 2. License keys for Cinema DNG and Apple ProRes must be purchased separately. Without a doubt, DJI Inspire 2 is a breakthrough from Inspire 1. So, does Inspire 2 play its part? It records videos of incredible quality, and the possibility of handling independently of the gimbal by a camera operator gives infinite possibilities of filming. It is also highly stable in fast flights.

In conclusion, it is a drone that has everything that can be asked of a filming station and that offers quality more than enough to be able to record feature films. In fact, it is often used for this purpose.
